As a railway enthusiast, I am delighted to live so close to this wonderful piece of history which allows you to step back in time and experience vintage transport from a bygone age.

At least once or twice a year for the past 20 years – and always at Christmas – we pay a visit to the Epping Ongar Railway and get transported back to a more peaceful age of transport! You can take a vintage buses right from the front door of Epping station to period stations, with heritage steam and diesel hauled trains.

With various enthusiast and family events taking place throughout the year there’s something for everyone (even if you are not as “into railways” as I am!)  There are three different heritage transport experiences included in a single ticket which is valid to use all day.
